AAS Scholarship Test
Academic Assessment Services (AAS) is a leading provider of scholarship and selective school testing for many of Australia's top-tier independent schools. Unlike standard curriculum assessments, the AAS test is specifically designed to identify exceptional academic potential, with a strong emphasis on higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning.
A critical and often decisive component of the AAS exam is Written Expression. AAS writing prompts are notoriously unpredictable and abstract—often presenting a single word, a provocative statement, or an unusual image. Students are expected to produce a highly original narrative, descriptive, or persuasive piece under strict time constraints. Examiners look far beyond basic grammar; they reward creativity, sophisticated vocabulary, emotional depth, and a clear, engaging voice.
Because the writing task cannot be easily 'crammed' or memorized, consistent and targeted practice is essential. Our preparation program is meticulously aligned with AAS standards. We expose students to a diverse range of authentic, abstract prompts, helping them build the reflexes to structure their thoughts quickly under exam conditions.
To help students confidently tackle this challenge, we have developed a highly structured 10-week intensive preparation routine. Our platform goes beyond granular writing feedback; it breaks down exam preparation into manageable daily tasks. From building a robust vocabulary through our curated Word Bank and reading exercises, to rigorous writing practice, targeted rewrites, and model essay analysis. Combined with a gamified reward system to keep students motivated, we comprehensively elevate their English proficiency, giving them a distinct competitive edge.
